My first month as a digital
marketing apprentice

Going into an apprenticeship is a daunting experience but one I do not regret.

My first month working with Credere Media in Hexham as a digital marketing apprentice has been the most informative month of my educational life, and that includes two years spent studying at university.

Digital platforms and tools

Over these four weeks, I have been introduced to a variety of different digital platforms and useful sites including:

  • Magento (e-commerce)
  • WordPress (content management system)
  • MailChimp (newsletters)
  • Tweetdeck (social media tool)
  • HootSuite  (social media tool)
  • Semrush (SEO tool)
  • Google Analytics
  • Google Ads
  • Google Garage

During this time I have a read many blogs and articles to find out as much information as I can about each platform to help myself get to grips with it all.

I am turning into a digital marketing geek!

Each platform I have used offers something different and utilising these tools I  have had the opportunity to work on Credere’s most recent clients’ websites and digital marketing.

The first month my work has been largely focused on SEO and looking at the different ways to get our clients websites into Google’s highest rankings. I have learned a lot about this from Stu, Credere’s Creative Director and I look forward to putting this into practice more and more.

Social Media Marketing

Although I have done a lot of research and spent a lot of time looking at SEO I have also had the chance to look at the social media side of marketing, one area I find very interesting after being attracted in by many companies myself using these methods before.

Facebook, Twitter and more recently Pinterest have been the sites Credere is focusing on at the moment.  I have spent time looking at these social media pages and got given the nod by Stu to post on these platforms and experiment for myself to see what works and what doesn’t. This will be a long learning process as trends come and go but one I look forward to keeping up with!
